Endorsement | EL-STEM

Pacific University, in collaboration with our partner school districts, will design, implement and evaluate an English as a Second Langauge (ESOL) endorsement program for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) educators in grades six to 12.

The goal of this STEM-focused ESOL endorsement curriculum will be to maximize the educational achievement of English language learners in STEM subjects, while also enhancing STEM educators' awareness and understanding of the needs and challenges that English language learners face in academic settings.

Funded by the federal National Professional Development grant (OELA, U.S. Department of Education Grant No. T365Z120107), application fees and tuition are fully covered for selected participants. In addition, the grant provides a $1,000 stipend to teachers who successfully complete the coursework and passing NES: ESOL licensure exam.

To become a STEM teacher and earn your ESOL endorsement at the same time, please see our EL-STEM MAT program.
