Pacfic University was the first chartered university in Oregon and today is a thriving member of the education scene in the Willamette Valley. We have campuses in Forest Grove, Hillsboro, Eugene and Woodburn, Ore., each offering graduate-level programs. Most of our on-site graduate programs, however, take place in Hillsboro.
A major suburb of Portland, Hillsboro is the fifth largest city in Oregon and is a hub for the high-tech industry and healthcare. The city boasts three movie theaters, a variety of musical ensembles, a cultural arts center and two libraries, both part of the greater Washington County Public Library system. Hillsboro also is home to the Hillsboro Hops baseball team, an affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Residents enjoy two farmers markets offering produce and crafts, as well as close proximity to a vibrant agricultural region. Shopping ranges from a collection of box stores and the Streets of Tanasbourne mall to more intimate local businesses.
Hillsboro also is just a short drive — or light-rail ride — from downtown Portland with its diverse amenities and entertainment options. Meanwhile, Hillsboro also is about an hour from both the Oregon Coast and Mt. Hood, and residents enjoy a plethora of outdoor activities from camping at nearby LL Stub Stewart State Park and hiking in the Tillamook Forest to skiing, snowboarding, surfing and boating.
Pacific's Hillsboro Campus lies in downtown, part of the vibrant Health & Education District that also includes Tuality Hospital. The campus is situated direclty on the MAX light-rail line, providing easy transportation throughout the Portland area.
