Academics

Pacific University offers more than 60 undergraduate majors and minors in the liberal arts and sciences, education and business, as well as undergraduate professional programs in dental hygiene and health sciences.

Our students study under the university's full-time faculty members, who are devoted to teaching and to forming close mentoring relationships with their students. Almost all classes are taught by professors — not teaching assistants. At Pacific, professors don't just know their students' names; they know their interests and goals.

Pacific is known for its excellent liberal arts foundation, as well as the superior preparation its students receive for careers and advanced study. We emphasize the education benefits of research projects, internships, study abroad experiences and service learning. Undergraduate students have the opportunity to conduct research alongside faculty, and all students complete a senior year capstone as the culmination of their academic experience.

Our students can participate in pre-professional tracks to prepare for graduate study or careers. Our alumni find success in an amazing variety of fields around the world.
