EyeClinic Cornelius' new location part of Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center opening

The College of Optometry showcases its newest EyeClinic location in Cornelius. Services available to the general public in addition to Virginia Garcia clients.


Several hundred local community members, including area dignitaries and Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (D), celebrated the grand opening of the new Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center in downtown Cornelius on Friday, Oct. 19.

Following a program and ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees toured the sparkling new facility, which includes EyeClinic Cornelius, one of six full-service vision care centers operated throughout the region by Pacific's College of Optometry.

The transition to the new clinic, including the installation of new equipment, has been overseen by Associate Dean for Clinical Programs, Ken Eakland O.D. '84.

Optometry dean Jennifer Smythe '90, O.D. '93, M.S. '00 thanked several supporters of the new clinic, including the Spirit Mountain Community Fund.

EyeClinic Cornelius provides comprehensive vision services to Virginia Garcia clients in both English and Spanish, including exams, tests, corrective lenses and other eye care products.

In addition to serving Virginia Garcia clients, EyeClinic Cornelius is also open to the general public. For more information, including appointment scheduling, please call 503-352-8543.

Pacific University has been a proud community partner of VGMHC for many years. The University houses the Virginia Garcia's Hillsboro clinic and pharmacy at the Health Professions Campus.
