Sustainability at Pacific.

Before the end of the school year, Pacific University celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day with keynote speaker Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation!

As an institution of higher learning, Pacific takes seriously the unique opportunity to fully investigate the imperative of creating a more sustainable future, to empower our students to pioneer solutions, find connections, and to foster eco-literacy, social equity, and leadership in our community of influence.

On this page you can learn more about our sustainability commitment: our five LEED-certified buildings, permaculture project, bike rental program, organic and local food options, and the incredible research that our faculty and students are currently involved in.

We're also excited to share with you where we're heading. Currently, Pacific is exploring opportunities to further integrate sustainability concepts into curricula, additional interdisciplinary scholarship and research that will lead to a more holistic view of sustainability issues, and finding more and more opportunities to use our unique campuses as learning laboratories for sustainability.
