Elementary Education & English Language Learning

The Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education and English language learning is a degree-completion program offered at the Pacific University Woodburn and Eugene campuses. Students with junior standing and at least seventy percent of the required transfer courses complete can transfer into the B.Ed. program and earn an initial teaching license with early childhood and elementary authorizations, as well as an ESOL specialty endorsement.

Program Highlights

  • Become a culturally proficient Teacher, Leader, and Advocate for children and families by completing the four-semester (Woodburn) or five-semester (Eugene) transfer program.
  • Enjoy mentorship and assistance from the beginning of the application process to your first year as a teacher.
  • Earn Oregon Teacher Licensure, P- Grade Six, an integrated transfer program.
  • Be immersed in community and school service and advocacy.
  • Participate in active learning that integrates coursework and school experiences from the first semester and continues across the program.

Eugene Program Highlights

  • Work toward an English for Speakers of Other Languages endorsement, along with Oregon teacher licensure, in one integrated program.
  • Take evening and weekend courses while you work.
  • Continue coursework at Lane Community College while enrolled as a full time Pacific University (Eugene Campus) student.
  • Receive additional Ford Foundation Scholarships and assistance if you qualify.

Woodburn Program Highlights

  • Earn an English for Speakers of Other Languages endorsement, along with Oregon teacher licensure, as one integrated program.
  • Engage in learning and teaching alongside highly trained ESOL elementary teachers in the Woodburn School District.
  • Continue coursework at Chemeketa Community College while enrolled as a full time Pacific Woodburn University student.
  • Receive additional Teach Oregon Scholarships and assistance if you are a future teacher of color.
