Dr. Willis serves as the Director of Clinical Training for the APS program. Dr. Willis’ research interests lie primarily in two areas: sex/sexuality and community based research methods. The Human Sexuality Research Group focuses on sexuality broadly with particular focus on the intersection between sexuality & disability, sex-positive or balanced research, and integrating the science of sexuality into psychotherapy.

Clinical and Research Interests

Clinical interests: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Feminist Therapy, LGBTQ mental health, chronic pain & chronic illness, behavioral health integration, improving service delivery in Community Mental Health settings

Research interests: Dr. Willis’ research interests lie primarily in two areas: sex/sexuality and community based research methods. The Human Sexuality Research Group focuses on sexuality broadly with particular focus on the intersection between sexuality & disability, sex-positive or balanced research, and integrating the science of sexuality into psychotherapy. Dr. Willis’ interest community research methods lies primarily in Program Evaluation (the application of research methods to answer questions about projects and programs). Dr. Willis enjoys partnering with community stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
