Practice/Research Interests

My practice specialization is in drug information and drug policy. The provision of medication information is one of the fundamental responsibilities of pharmacists in all settings of practice and I enjoy teaching these skills in research, synthesis, and communication across the curriculum. Specialists in my area often support front line staff with more in depth patient-specific consultations or help develop programs and policies such as formulary management, collaborative therapeutic drug use guidelines, adverse drug event and medication error reporting and prevention activities, and medical writing that serves larger groups of patients. My primary research focus is connected through my interests in post-graduate residency training, experiential education, and preceptor development. I additionally have some projects focused in teaching methods, assessment techniques, and systematic reviews.

Outside the Classroom

She lives in Portland with her husband, daughter, and two tuxedo cats. She enjoys traveling, baking, gardening, and creating props and sets for theater and dance performances. She's likes scouting out and recommending restaurants, food cart pods, and less well known but still classic "Portlandia" sites and events.
