What is your specialty as a tutor? What topic, problem, subject, or process do you most enjoy helping students to learn?
Anything in my subjects!
Which of the CLASS 5 Keys – Respect, Inclusion, Growth, Support, and Pizzazz - resonates with you the most and how do you put it into practice in your work as a tutor?
Growth resonates with me the most because in my personal experiences, students grew the most when they learned something, so my goal is for the students I tutored to walk away from a session learning or understanding a concept better than they entered it.
What is your best advice for students on how to get the most out of their academic experience in college?
My best advice is to find a study group or partners who can support and lean on in your classes, and hopefully outside too. I found most of my friends from our study group for organic chemistry, and I feel like I thrived much more academically and socially because of it. This was also how I found out about CLASS and became a tutor, because I get to reinforce my own understanding at every session.
