What is your specialty as a tutor? What topic, problem, subject, or process do you most enjoy helping students to learn?

My specialty as a tutor is to provide strategies that will allow the student to succeed on their own. I like helping students work through tough problems and provide them an understanding of the overall concept.

Which of the CLASS 5 Keys – Respect, Inclusion, Growth, Support, and Pizzazz - resonates with you the most and how do you put it into practice in your work as a tutor?

The key that resonates with me the most is support. I understand that all students are different types of learners, have different levels of understanding the material, have different schedules, and deal with unique circumstances. I want to support you no matter what and will respect where you at. My goal is to help you improve!

What is your best advice for students on how to get the most out of their academic experience in college?

We make a massive investment to go to Pacific, financially and with our time. Do not take this opportunity for granted. These 4 years prep you for the next 40 years of your life and you are in control of how you approach these 4 years. Attend as many events as possible to grow your network, pay attention and ask questions in class, and connect with your professors, classmates, coaches, faculty, and everyone on campus because they can always support you.

Give us a movie quotation, song lyric, or line from a book that will motivate us in our learning.

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan
