New York alumni and friends are invited to gather for a special reception with Professor Lorely French.

Lorely will be in town for the opening of an exhibition showcasing the art of Ceija Stojka, an Austrian Romani Holocaust survivor, writer, visual artist, musician, and activist. The exhibition will take place at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York beginning May 23 until September.

Lorely published an English translation of Stojka’s memoirs last year and will perform a reading at 7 p.m. at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, following the reception.

At Pacific Lorely teaches all levels of German language, literature and culture from the 18th century to the present, film, women’s literature, gender studies, and Roma writers of German-speaking countries. She also serves as a faculty representative on the Board of Trustees.

This event is free, but advance registration is required for planning purposes.
