Areas I Teach

Allie began her career in the outdoors leading three-week long sea kayaking and backpacking expeditions in Alaska. Allie has well over a decade of experience leading outdoor expeditions, teaching experiential education, and facilitating leadership and team development for students of all ages and larger corporations. This has ranged from 30-day long expeditions backpacking, sea kayaking and canyoneering to weeklong basecamp courses, facilitating day and half-day programs and leading cycling trips throughout Europe. Most recently Allie moved from Southern California where she was the Director of an Outdoor Program for a K-12 school. She also continues to teach as a senior faculty member for NOLS.

She is passionate about getting people outside and finding their individual passions, connections, and challenges. It is incredible to both empower individuals in these environments and watch as they develop and build meaningful relationships, with each other and the environment. Through the Outdoor Leadership program we have the opportunity to step into these outdoor classrooms with intention, disconnect and pay attention to our daily practice and relationships. It is through our day to day interactions and paying close attention to these where growth and development occur.

Allie has had the opportunity to hike the John Muir Trail in CA, backpack through the Dolomites in Italy and sea kayak extensively throughout Prince William Sound in AK. Allie enjoys spending time outdoors whether that's playing in the water, biking, or going on a hike with her pup!

Allie is originally from the east coast and holds a B.A. in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Drexel University, and an International MBA from Università di Pisa, Italy.
