Dr. Bentz has almost 3 decades experience as an internist practicing in both primary care and inpatient internal medicine, as well as providing care in both urgent care and emergency room settings.  He has spent most of his career as an educator of medical and physician assistant students as well as medical and surgical interns, residents and fellows.  He has also been an educator of his peers, directing Continuing Medical Education programs in Providence Health System and at Fanno Creek Clinic.  He has a background in Quality Improvement and served as Medical Director for Health Services Research for Providence Health System in Oregon.  He served as chair of the internal medicine section at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center where he supervised the peer-review process for all internal medicine providers and continues to serve as a supervisor and medical reviewer for Advance Practice Providers at Legacy Go-Heath Urgent Care in the Portland Metropolitan Area.  He currently has a private practice in internal medicine at the Fanno Creek Clinic.  He has been involved with the School of Physician Assistant Studies at Pacific University from the very beginning in the mid 1990’s and currently serves as its Medical Director.  In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, reading science-fiction, listening to “classic” rock-and-roll, and playing with his grandchildren.
