Term Assistant Professor

Hello, my name is Corissa Mazurkiewicz and I have been an educator for over 20 years. I first began teaching special education on the island of Saipan in the CNMI. From there I moved to the Big Island of Hawai‘i, where I taught for several years before coming to Oregon and teaching in the Beaverton School District. I am currently a term assistant professor here at Pacific. My research interests are focused around embedding mindfulness practices in schools. In addition to contemplative education, I am also committed to social justice, inclusive classrooms and bridging special and general education systems. I have been studying yoga and meditation for over 25 years and I am currently learning Tae Kwon Do. I live in the forest with my husband, two children, a cat and nine chickens. Some of my passions include, traveling, diving, cooking, gardening and dancing.
