Dr. Chen is a highly accomplished academic with extensive experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting, economics, and finance. He has taught at four different institutions since 2012 and has consistently received recognition for his teaching excellence. In 2013, he was honored with the Price Finance Teaching Excellence Award at the University of Oklahoma, and in 2023, he received the prestigious President's Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching at Pacific University.

Dr. Chen's expertise lies in the fields of Corporate Finance, Market Microstructure, and Energy Economics, where he has made significant contributions through his research. His work has been published in reputable academic journals such as the Journal of Financial Research, Energy Economics, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and Journal of Economics and Business. In fact, his paper on mergers and acquisitions was awarded the prestigious Journal of Economics and Business best paper prize in 2020. Additionally, he has been recognized with one best conference paper award and two semifinalist best conference paper awards. Dr. Chen's research has also garnered attention on the international stage, with presentations at esteemed conferences such as the European Finance Association and Financial Management Association annual conferences.

Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Chen has actively mentored and advised students at his previous institutions. His guidance has played a vital role in the success of his advisees, who have received notable accolades such as the Pacific University Outstanding Graduate 2021, Robert Barry Carson Best Paper Award, and SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence.

Furthermore, Dr. Chen is a dedicated member of various academic and finance associations, demonstrating his commitment to the advancement of knowledge in his field.
