I’m an Assistant Professor of Education Studies whose teaching and research center on intersectional gender equity and antiracist pedagogy. Having taught for many years in PK–12 settings both within and outside of the U.S., I’m particularly interested in how we work alongside emerging educators to recognize and challenge inequity in educational spaces.

My scholarship has focused on working with pre- and in-service teachers around issues of educational sexism. I am the author of Dismantling Educational Sexism through Teacher Education: Engaging Preservice Teachers in an Anti-Sexism Curriculum (Routledge Research in Teacher Education). My current research explores ungrading with a focus on both understanding and implementing humanizing assessment practices that help to support student agency, deepen learning, and sustain dialogic relationships between students and instructors.

I am also committed to teacher education as a collaborative community. I serve on the editorial board of the Northwest Journal of Teacher Education (NWJTE) and as treasurer and board member for the Oregon Association of Teacher Educators (ORATE).
