Board of Trustees Welcomes Four New Members
Four individuals have recently been elected to the Pacific University Board of Trustees.
They are:
Robert O. Barrett
Barrett, a Pacific alumnus and resident of Exton, Pa., most recently served as vice president of sales for Mohawk Industries, one of the country's major flooring suppliers. Barrett earned a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Pacific in 1966. His first term began Aug. 21 and expires June 30, 2016.
Michelle M. Cowing, PhD
Cowing is a professor of management at Pacific who joined the university faculty in 1999. She chairs the Business Department and recently developed and implemented an accelerated three-year business degree curriculum. Cowing's term began July 1 and expires June 30, 2015.
Peter O. Kohler, MD
Dr. Kohler is currently vice chancellor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Northwest, a distinguished professor of medicine at the institution and president emeritus of Oregon Health & Science University. He served as OHSU's president from 1988-2006. Dr. Kohler's first term began Sept. 25 and expires June 30, 2016.
Kasie Rust
Rust is a student within the university's College of Optometry and member of the American Optometric Student Association. In addition to her studies, she is a research assistant for the college's Master of Science in Vision Science degree program. She earned her bachelor's degree magna cum laude from St. Catherine University (Minn.) in 2011. Rust's term began July 1 and expires June 30, 2014.
The Board of Trustees is Pacific University's chief governing body and currently consists of 32 elected members.
