Campus Tour Guides Needed for Children

Volunteers are needed to lead tours for children in elementary school through our K-8 Campus Tour Program. 

K-8 Campus Tours are an important component in helping children prepare for college. For a student to be truly prepared for college, parents and children need to begin thinking about higher education goals as early as elementary school. For many children, particularly those whose parents didn’t attend college, there are few opportunities to begin this conversation. 

Many elementary and middle schools have begun programs to inspire young children to begin considering college and studies show campus visits to be a critical element in helping children understand college. As a result Pacific University receives frequent requests from teachers, many of whom are alumni, hoping to bring their classrooms, grades and sometimes entire schools to campus for a visit. 

Our K-8 Campus Tours address this growing need and are vital to ensure children see college as part of their future. 

K-8 Campus Tours take place during the school day. Volunteers can choose from a menu of options and support one or more tours. Volunteers do not need experience leading tours and do not need a high level of knowledge about life on campus. Training is provided.
