Debra Gwartney is a Oregon Book Award in Creative Nonfiction Finalist

Debra Gwartney, professor of MFA writing, is a Oregon Book Award in Creative Nonfiction finalist for 2020. Each year, authors are honored through this program that work in genres of poetry, fiction, graphic literature, drama, literary nonfiction and literature for young readers. Gwartney's placing novel, I am a Stranger Here Myself, is a hybrid memoir-history of 19th century Western expansion, and what it means to be a woman of the West.
