Honors accumulate for Emily Woodworth '16
Emily Woodworth ’16 is on a creative roll.
She learned this month that her story "Nowhere Man" has been accepted for publication by Inkwell, a well-known literary journal based in Purchase, N.Y. Another of her stories, “I, Object” was published this summer by Crannóg, a literary magazine based in Galway, Ireland, and was nominated for a prestigious Pushcart Prize.
“It's always exciting to receive an acceptance, and I think Inkwell will make a wonderful home for my forthcoming piece, ‘Nowhere Man,’” she said by email. “And, of course, prize nominations are always an added bonus and real confidence booster. I'm still awed and honored that the editors of Crannóg believed in my work deeply enough to put forward ‘I, Object’ for the Pushcart — especially in light of the other strong pieces gracing their pages this year.”
At Pacific, Woodworth was a creative writing major with a minor in editing and publishing. She now attends CalArts in Santa Clarita, Calif., where she is working toward her MFA.
She also received a distinction in Best American Essays and has been published in several other journals.
