Megan Schmauder OD '21: Recognized For Three Honors by College of Optometry
Megan Schmauder OD '21 has been recognized by the Pacific University College of Optometry with three honors upon graduation in May 2021.
Schmauder, who is from Reno, Nev., received the college’s Private Practice Scholarship, the VSP/AAOF Practice Excellence Scholarship and the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award, The awards recognize academic excellence, eye care service, achievement in the field of low vision, and the commitment to pursuing private practice in optometry.
As a student, Schmauder served as secretary of AMIGOS Eye Care and was a graduate teaching assistant.
The College of Optometry provides a foundation in basic and clinical sciences, as well as significant hands-on experience in serving diverse populations of patients. Students also are involved in outreach locally and around the world, as they prepare to serve patients anywhere their careers take them. The college offers bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs in vision science, as well as a doctor of optometry degree.
