Pacific Fans Score Again on Second Annual Athletic Giving Days
Once again, the Boxer Nation hit one out of the park!
Pacific University’s second annual Athletic Giving Days came to a very successful close on Oct. 20 after 36 hours of online sharing, caring and giving. Fans and friends rallied together for tremendous support of Pacific’s athletic programs, teams, and student-athletes.
By 9:30 p.m. on the first day, we had already met our goal of receiving support from 400 donors. After the buzzer sounded on the second day, the final score was this: over 700 donors gave more $113,000 in support of Pacific’s student-athletes and the Athletic Department!
The Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) executive board played a role this year in generating excitement and support for Athletic Giving Days, with emails for the giving event coming from the four members: SAAC president, Haylie Uetake ’22; SAAC vice president, Jordan Hara ’22; SAAC communications officer, Jessica Eligio ’22; and SAAC treasurer, Kristi Echiverri ’22. Uetake was very excited by the results, and said she has never been more proud to be a Boxer.
“It was an amazing experience to feel all the love and support from alumni, families, friends, faculty and staff, and students, and such a fun and grounding experience to see how well Boxer athletics came together, got creative, and showed their appreciation,” said Uetake. “For each and every student-athlete here at Pacific, these donations mean the world to us — it not only presents us with new opportunities, but also gives us the chance to get new equipment and facilities to better ourselves and better our teams.”
