School of Pharmacy Assistant Professor Ashim Malhotra Authors A Book on Cardiovascular Diseases

School of Pharmacy Assistant Professor Dr. Ashim Malhotra, BPharm, PhD has edited and authored a book entitled, “Emerging Applications, Perspectives, and Discoveries in Cardiovascular Research”, published by IGI Global of Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Comprised of 18 chapters, the book examines the latest discoveries and innovations in cardiovascular sciences, including basic, clinical, and social sciences. Developed over a period of 2 years, and published in April 2017, the book intends to create a platform that can be shared by individuals with varying degrees of expertise and interest in the cardiovascular sciences. The target audience includes faculty, students, and industry researchers in the field of biomedical and cardiovascular sciences and also mechanical engineers and clinical and pharmacy practitioners. I served as the Chief Editor for this project and was ably assisted by my Co-Editor Dr. Shivani Soni of the Alabama State University.

Additionally, three chapters have been co-written by Pacific University School of Pharmacy faculty Dr. Brigg Turner, Dr. Jacequline Schwartz, and Dr. Fawzy Elbarbry, and an alumnus, Dr. Alison Shafer. The book depended heavily on collaborative contributions, especially from clinical and pharmacy practice faculty.
