Student Emergency Grant Payments Start Friday

Eligible Pacific University students will begin receiving emergency financial aid grants starting this week. The federal CARES Act includes a Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), a portion of which must go directly to eligible students in the form of emergency financial aid grants for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations.

Pacific students who qualify will receive $400 each. The first batch of payments will begin Friday and will continue through June. Students who have direct deposit authorized with the Business Office will receive payments in that form; others will receive a check via mail. Eligible students include those who:

  • Were enrolled in a face-to-face program as of March 13, 2020
  • Filed a FAFSA for the 2019-2020 academic year
  • Demonstrated financial need (as determined by the FAFSA) on March 13, 2020, and
  • Met all eligibility criteria for federal Title IV financial aid programs
