The Pacific University Forensics Team is pleased to host both the annual Hap Hingston and biennial Fred Scheller Forensics Invitational Speech and Debate Tournaments in January. 
Freshman Maddie Moradi '25 took top honors for Novice/Junior Speakers at the 91st Mahaffey Memorial Forensics Tournament and the team placed seventh overall.

Olivia Rockwood ’21 has been named Pacific University’s Outstanding Senior in Speech and Debate.
Taylor Clapp
Taylor A. Clapp ’21 has been named the Pacific University Outstanding Senior in Speech and Debate.
Espinoza
Zoraida Espinoza '22 was a national semifinalist in prose, and Pacific University's forensics team finished 15th in the President's Division II and 33rd overall in the 2021 National Forensics Association National Championship Tournament.
Pacific University is pleased to host the annual Hap Hingston Forensics Invitational speech and debate tournament to be held Saturday, Jan. 11, to Sunday, Jan. 12. Pacific is also pleased to host the annual Fred Scheller Forensics Invitational speech and debate tournament to be held Friday, Jan. 24, to Sunday, Jan. 26. Both tournaments are looking for judges.
The Pacific University Speech and Debate Team earned 18 awards at the Oregon State University Earl Wells Memorial Tournament Feb. 17-18. Each attending team member picked up at least one award, culminating in a second-place team-sweepstakes award.
The Pacific University Speech & Debate Team hosted 23 colleges and universities on the Forest Grove Campus for the Fred Scheller Invitational, Jan. 26-28.
