As we approach the end of 2020 members of the Board of Trustees want to tell each and every one of you — students, faculty, staff, deans and directors, President Hallick and her leadership team — how deeply we appreciate your efforts and cooperation in this challenging year of COVID-19.

New trustees include Pacific alumnus and retired teacher and therapist Kelli Gehrs ’81, MAED ‘82, alumnus and attorney Hong Huynh ’95, Mike Henningsen Jr., retired president of Henningsen Cold Storage, and business president and Pacific parent Chuck Quinn.
Dr. Fawzy Elbarbry
Dr. Fawzy Elbarbry, an associate professor in the university’s School of Pharmacy, will serve as faculty trustee. Chika Matsumoto ’21, an undergraduate exercise science major, will serve as an undergraduate student trustee.

The Northern California resident is currently president and chief executive officer of The Mutual Risk Retention Group, Inc.
Alumnus Jim Fitzgerald '68, Economics Professor Jamie Haag, and optometry student and alumnus Adam Preston MEd '10, OD '11 began their terms on July 1.

Pacific University Trustee Michael Hudson Sr. ’77 is serving as the temporary director of human resources for the Santa Monica (Calif.) Community College District.

Longtime trustee Gerald Yoshida '73 elected as board chair.
