The Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS) offers peer tutoring and academic coaching, free for any student at Pacific. CLASS aims to improve student success by providing a welcoming environment where students can work toward their academic goals with peer support. Peer tutors and coaches help students develop effective learning and study strategies and hone their academic skills. Peer tutors also provide students with guidance in understanding concepts and solving problems from their courses.
Tutoring is beneficial for students learning new concepts or revisiting old ones. Peer tutors can help students effectively approach and understand course content, and work with them to figure out the best ways to study for tests and tackle assignments for a specific class. Writing tutors can help with any type of writing assignment, for any class. Tutoring is available to undergraduate, graduate, and professional program students.
Peer academic coaching
Academic coaching is useful for students looking for general academic support, rather than assistance for a specific course. Peer academic coaches can help with things like time management, note-taking, test preparation, and utilizing effective study strategies, all of which are helpful for developing successful habits for any course. Academic coaching is available to undergraduate students.
