Announcements
Significant research and work have already been conducted by a Freedom of Expression Task Force, approved by the University Council in October of 2022. In May 2025, the University Council agreed to reestablish a new task force during the 2025-26 academic year to continue this work. The Provost, as chair of the University Council, is seeking nominations of faculty and staff to fill two faculty and two staff member positions. Given the scope of this project, the time commitment is estimated to be between 3-5 hours per month, but may vary depending on the progress of the work. We anticipate that the completion of this work will be spring of 2026. The nomination deadline is tomorrow, Nov. 7.
We understand that reduced or delayed SNAP benefits impact a significant number of our Pacific community members and we want you to know that your University is here for you and that we are committed to helping you bridge this gap.
Benefits Open Enrollment for plan year 2026 is open and runs through Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025. During this time, benefit-eligible employees will be able to make desired changes to their current benefits within the Paycom HRIS system.
As the days grow shorter, many of us are heading to and from work in the dark. Combined with fallen leaves and wet conditions, walkways and parking lots can become unexpectedly slippery.
How do we identify the differences between hate speech, bullying, and disagreement? When are limits to free speech warranted? Join us as we offer a purposeful and respectful space for students to come together and talk to each other about these topics in guided conversation. All discussion materials (and snacks!) will be provided.
All new fall students are invited (required for students in PACU 101) to attend student success week - featuring sessions around battling procrastination/burnout, creating community, building your career path, creating your experience as a learner (using AI effectively, building writing skills, and creating a study life), understanding financial aid, and more!
A new Credit Hour policy has been approved by the Provost and Faculty Senate and posted on our website for use by the Pacific University community. The policy codifies the definition of “credit hour” and is based on the historic Carnegie Unit and the Northwest Commission on College and Universities Credit Hour Policy.
All May 2026 degree candidates must submit an Application for Graduation through BoxerOnline Self Service by January 15, 20026 in order to have a degree or certificate conferred.
