The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and the Pacific University Libraries are proud to host an evening with Tim (Khiem) Tran '74, Board of Trustees member, as he shares his journey from student to political refugee.

The event features a reading from Tran's 2020 Best Indie Award winning memoir, American Dreamer: How I Escaped Communist Vietnam and Built a Successful Life in America and an opportunity to ask questions. Tran highlights the hope America represented for him throughout his life, from gaining an education to ultimately achieving democratic freedom.

This virtual event is free, but advance registration is required. The first 25 to register will receive a free signed copy of Tran's book!

Doan Pham '21, Undergraduate Student Senate president will moderate this event which is part of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
