Old College Hall Open House - Nov. 2026
Old College Hall served as the first educational building on Pacific University’s campus after its founding in 1849. The first President of Pacific University was Sidney H. Marsh, who served from 1853 until his death in 1879. President Marsh was dedicated to the defense of education in the new state of Oregon and also spoke frequently as a Congregational Minister.
You can learn more about President Marsh and other founding figures of Pacific University like Mother of Oregon, Tabitha Moffat Brown, at the museum on the second floor of Old College Hall. The doors of the historic white clapboard building open once a month to give visitors a chance to explore the exhibits, artifacts, and history of the college and Forest Grove region as a whole.
Visit campus and take a tour guided by a volunteer from the Friends of Historic Forest Grove who can share information about the building, the history of the town, and ongoing local preservation projects.
No registration is required for this open house.
Pacific University would like to thank the dedicated docents from the Friends of Historic Forest Grove for donating their time, energy, and knowledge to guiding tours at Old College Hall every month.
