The Pacific University Music Department's Philharmonic Orchestra presents its Fall 2022 Concert Music from Across Eras and Nations.

Orchestra students joined by community members will perform Dance Bacchanale by Camile Saint-Saens, Pavane by Gabriel Faure, A Guitar Concerto in D minor by Antonio Vivaldi, and Unfinished Symphony by Franz Shubert.

The featured guest performer will be eminent guitarist and author Christopher Berg, who is also a Carolina Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the School of Music at the University of South Carolina. He will perform Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in D Major with the Pacific Philharmonic Orchestra.

Berg has performed recitals in Carnegie Recital Hall and Merkin Hall in  New York in addition to hundreds of recital and concerto appearances throughout the United States. He has been honored by the National Endowment for the arts as a recipient of a Solo Recitalist Fellowship. The Post and Courier (Charleston, SC) described his playing as "a stellar display of guitar virtuosity." Berg has also published several influential books on guitar pedagogy and performance.
