Pacific University will celebrate the inauguration of its 18th president, Dr. Jennifer Coyle, on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

The first alumna to serve as president of Pacific, Dr. Coyle has been a part of the Boxer community for more than 30 years. She earned her bachelor of vision science, doctor of optometry, and master of science in vision science, all from Pacific. She also completed a contact lens residency at Pacific, and then began teaching in the College of Optometry in 1994. She served as associate dean from 2006 to 2008 and as dean from 2008 to 2019.

After a term as dean of the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University, Dr. Coyle returned to Pacific this summer to take the helm as president.

Her inauguration in March will be a celebration of the last 30 years at Pacific and a glimpse into the future as Pacific seeks to “dwell in possibility,” living out its mission to inspire students who think, care, create, and pursue justice in the world.

The formal inauguration ceremony takes place March 9 on the Forest Grove Campus and also will be livestreamed here. Those attending in person who need accommodations, please let us know how we can assist you.
