“Partner with Pacific” is a bi-annual professional development series for community partners and local employers. Hosted by the McCall Center for Civic Engagement and Academic and Career Advising, this free series helps employers prepare to welcome the Gen Z workforce and maximize their 21st century skillset.
Partner with Pacific takes place every Fall and Spring semester, directly before the Work & Service Fair. Fair attendees are encouraged to attend, however it is open to all interested community partners and local employers, whether you are hosting a table at the Fair or not.
An RSVP is not required but is strongly recommended to ensure a sufficient catering order (we will have coffee, tea, and breakfast pastries). We hope you can join us and welcome you to bring interested guests!
Below are details of the upcoming summit as well as prior year themes.

Spring 2026 Partner with Pacific
Tuesday, February 10, 2026 | 9:30am - 10:30pm
- Fall 2025 | Ready Day One: Hiring “Work Ready”
- Do you know what transferable skills to look for in a candidate interview? Can you describe what skills volunteers, interns, and entry level employees will gain during their time with you? “Work ready” employability skills and competencies are gaining prominence in the national conversation & are increasingly required in job posting (including when sharing internship and community service work study positions with Pacific students). The Fall 2025 Partner with Pacific event explored our “Core Competencies”, including how to share them in job posting and use them in interviews, and provided an opportunity for attendees share what they want to see in our graduates so we can work towards graduating students with the skills valued by our local business and nonprofit community!
- Spring 2025 | Giving Constructive Feedback
- “Giving Constructive Feedback” highlighted supportive feedback strategies that help young professionals improve their performance and/or grow their impact. The event brought together experts from the business community with Pacific University faculty, and featured student representatives sharing their own experiences. Attendees were invited to further network with Pacific University staff and faculty at the subsequent Work & Service Fair’s “Reception Corner”.
- Fall 2024 + earlier | Orientation to Pacific University Partnerships
- These bi-annual partner orientations reviewed partnership essentials, an overview of partnership opportunities, key considerations for partners, and next steps for new partners to engage.
