Jongsun Wee is a Professor in the Division & College of Undergraduate Studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove. As a former classroom teacher in both Korea and the United States, she is deeply committed to preparing preservice teachers and supporting their development as reflective professionals who recognize students’ diverse linguistic, cultural, and social backgrounds as assets. Dr. Wee’s research focuses on the use of diverse children’s literature as a tool for teaching, learning, and dialogue. She has served on several different children’s book awards selection committees, including the International Literacy Association Children’s and Young Adult Book Awards, the Jane Addams Children’s Book Award, the National Council of Teachers of English Children’s Poetry Awards, and the United States Board on Books for Young People with Disabilities Outstanding Books List.
