Kathryn Bell, RDH, MS
Katie joined Pacific University as a full-time faculty member in August 2010. She teaches both junior and senior students in the dental hygiene program, and serves as Associate Dean for Interprofessional Education. Katie has taught many continuing education courses, both at Pacific University, and at local and national conferences. Her research interests include interprofessional education, issues facing dental hygiene education, and issues impacting the dental hygiene scope of practice. Prior to joining Pacific University, Katie was a graduate teaching assistant and graduate research assistant at the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill.
Katie is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the American Dental Education Association. She is a member of Sigma Phi Alpha, the national dental hygiene honor society, holding alumni membership in the Xi chapter.
Katie enjoys spending time with her family, U.S. Masters Swimming, and being outside—in the woods, at the coast, on the trail, and pretty much everywhere in between. She is committed to creating a positive and open learning environment, and encourages her students to participate in professional association activities.
