Kathryn Bell, EdD, RDH
Katie Bell, EdD, RDH joined Pacific University as a full-time faculty member in August 2010. She teaches students in the DMSc and DHSc programs, and serves as Associate Dean for Interprofessional Education. Katie has taught many continuing education courses, both at Pacific University, and at local and national conferences. Her research interests include interprofessional education, issues facing graduate education, and issues facing dental and dental hygiene education. Prior to joining Pacific University, Katie was a graduate teaching assistant and graduate research assistant at the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill.
Katie is an active member of the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP), American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). She currently serves on the Interprofessional Task Force at ASAHP, and the Research Advisory Group at ADHA. She is a member of Sigma Phi Alpha, the national dental hygiene honor society, holding alumni membership in the Xi chapter.
Katie enjoys spending time with her family, U.S. Masters Swimming, multi-sport racing, and being outside—in the woods, at the coast, on the trail, and pretty much everywhere in between. She is committed to creating a positive and open learning environment, and being a supportive and responsive mentor.
