Peace and conflict studies; international politics; unarmed civilian protection; demilitarized security; nonviolent resistance and civilian-based defense; military desertion/defection; violence prevention; dialogue across difference; restorative justice; transitional justice, reconciliation, and peacebuilding; conflict resolution/transformation; the relationship between weapons and protection/vulnerability; war/political violence (especially discourse/meaning-making/legitimation); gender and global politics; ethics of war and peace.
