Accredition Commission Seeks Third-Party Comments About Pacific Dental Hygiene Program

The BS Degree Dental Hygiene Program offered by Pacific University is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Commission has established Accreditation Standards for Dental Hygiene Education Programs to guide program administrators, faculty and staff in developing and maintaining acceptable quality in educational programs. These standards address:

  1. Institutional effectiveness
  2. Educational program
  3. Administration, faculty and staff
  4. Institutional support services
  5. Health and safety provisions, and
  6. Patient care services

The next accreditation site visit for this program is scheduled for March 10-11, 2022.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit written comments about this program to the Commission. All comments must pertain only to the Accreditation Standards for Dental Hygiene Education Programs or the policies and procedures used in the Commission’s accreditation process.

Third-party comments must be received by the Commission no later than Jan. 10, 2022, which is 60 days prior to the site visit. All relevant comments will be referred to the program at least 50 days prior to the site visit for review and response. Comments should not be sent directly to the program.
