The Art of Seeing: A Retrospective of Jim Flory's Photography

The Kathrin Cawein Gallery of Art proudly presents The Art of Seeing a retrospective of Faculty Emeritus Jim Flory’s photographic images. The exhibition, which runs through April 20, spans a lifetime of his love for photography and his passion for teaching it. Some of the images are his original prints — often used for class examples — and many have been printed and matted in his honor by his colleagues and former students.

Join Pacific for a closing reception for the exhibition from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 14. Refreshments will be provided.

Flory left an indelible impression on so many. He lived a life filled with joy, compassion and a deep commitment to those he loved. He died peacefully on January 31, 2023.

The Cawein Gallery is typically open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, or by appointment. Contact Professor Tyler Brumfield, gallery curator at to schedule an appointment. The gallery follows the academic calendar regarding all closures and holidays.
