Dental Hygiene Faculty Member Named President of Oregon Dental Hygienists' Association

The Oregon Dental Hygienists’ Association (ODHA) installed their new officers during the 2014 Oregon Dental Hygiene Conference that was held this past weekend in Portland.

The following individuals will serve as ODHA officers for 2014-2015

  • Leslie Peterson, Vice President
  • Hildie Oliver, Immediate Past President
  • Kyle Johnstone, Treasurer
  • Katie Bell, Secretary
  • DeeAnne Ashcroft, Speaker of the House 

The following ODHA officers have ties to Pacific University

ODHA President Gail Aamodt is a full-time faculty member and clinical education coordinator for the School of Dental Health Science at Pacific University. Gail is also a Delegate to the 2015 ADHA Annual Session that will be held June 2015 in Nashville, Tenn.

ODHA President-Elect Cassie Button is a 2012 graduate of our BS Degree Dental Hygiene Program. Cassie previously served as Secretary for ODHA. Cassie received the ODHA Future Leader Award when she graduated from our program. 

ODHA Vice President Leslie Peterson is a 2009 graduate of our BS Degree Dental Hygiene Program. Leslie has served as president of the Washington County Dental Hygienists’ Association and she is a part-time clinical instructor at Pacific. Leslie received the Alumni Association Outstanding Graduate Award when she graduated from our program.

ODHA Treasurer Kyle Johnstone is a 2011 graduate of our BS Degree Dental Hygiene Program and a 2014 graduate of Pacific’s Master in Healthcare Administration (MHA) program. Kyle is a Dental Clinic Operations Manager for the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center. Kyle received alumni membership in Sigma Phi Alpha when he graduated from our program.

ODHA Secretary Katie Bell is a full-time faculty member in our School of Dental Hygiene Studies. Katie also serves on the Grant Review Committee for ADHA’s Institute for Oral Health.
