Karen Fern ’78, OD ’81 Retires

Karen Fern ’78, OD ’81 retired from the University of Houston College of Optometry in January 2021 after 37 years as a member of the faculty. Her research at the university was funded by the National Eye Institute for more than 30 years.

In June 2021, Fern was awarded professor emeritus status by the University of Houston.
