Pacific Launches Online Master of Nonprofit Leadership Program

Pacific University will launch a new online master’s program in nonprofit leadership, with classes beginning in January 2023. Admission is now open for the first class of master’s students.

Designed for recent graduates and working professionals, the master of nonprofit leadership is a fully online program that will focus on building skills and relevant experiences in the nonprofit world. Nonprofits are the third largest economic sector in the United States, offering more than 12 million jobs nationwide — and growing, despite a worker shortage.

“This inspired and relevant program is needed more than ever to build leadership for the nonprofit profession,” said Director Corky McReynolds.

The program offers a generalist degree with a focus on developing a strategy-based culture, community partnerships, fiscal responsibility and innovative programming. Students also can delve into the unique challenges and opportunities in certain sectors of the nonprofit world by choosing an optional concentration in environmental nonprofit leadership or rural nonprofit leadership.

Students begin their course of study with a virtual residency, where they will receive mentoring and build networks with emerging and expert nonprofit leaders serving as faculty and advisory council members.

Designed for recent graduates and working professionals, the master of nonprofit leadership is a fully online program. Classes will be offered either asynchronously or in real-time in the evening or on Fridays and weekends. Students will put their learning into practice with fieldwork at their current jobs or other real-world settings.

Full-time students can earn their master’s degree in just 13 months, while part-time students can choose a two- or three-year track.

Pacific University is a comprehensive university offering undergraduate, graduate and professional programs in the arts and sciences, business, education, health professions, and optometry.
