Why Study Nonprofit Leadership?

Gain the skills and experience you need to uplift our communities through nonprofit leadership.

Students in the master of nonprofit leadership (MNL) program at Pacific University are prepared with the skills and experience to make significant and positive changes in our communities. MNL students are working professionals seeking advancement in nonprofit management, career changers and recent college graduates interested in nonprofit leadership.

Pacific students in the MNL program learn how to lead mission-driven organizations with confidence, creativity and resilience. The nonprofit leadership curriculum is grounded in personal leadership development and real-world nonprofit practice, equipping MNL students with the skills to:

  • Lead people
  • Manage finances
  • Build community partnerships
  • Design innovative programs

Students finish the program by completing a Project in Action, applying their learning directly to a real-world challenge in the nonprofit sector.

Throughout the MNL program coursework, students are mentored by seasoned and emerging nonprofit leaders, practitioners, experts and faculty. MNL students build connections with fellow colleagues as they work together to grow their nonprofit leadership skills.
