Pacific Prepares for August Commencement
The Pacific University College of Health Professions will hold August Commencement exercises for several of its programs at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, on the Marsh East Lawn of the university's Forest Grove Campus.
Pacific's School of Graduate Psychology will proudly present its first PhD in Clinical Psychology degree candidate, Dana Colgan (Steamboat Springs, Colo.). The program is the university's newest doctoral degree offering, emphasizing research and clinical experience in complementary healthcare.
Additionally, the School of Graduate Psychology will also present candidates for PsyD clinical psychology degree, as well as master's degree candidates in counseling psychology, clinical psychology and applied psychological science. Among the applied psychological science degree candidates is first-generation college graduate Eddie Carrillo '15, whose California-based family of more than 30 are expected to see him receive his second degree from Pacific on Saturday.
Four other College of Health Professions schools will present candidates pursuing careers as audiologists, physician assistants, occupational therapists, dental hygienists and healthcare administrators. Among them are Tim Patching OTD '17, a budding inventor and future occupational therapist, and Quanita Anwar (Portland), a 2014 alumna of Pacific's School of Dental Hygiene Studies, who will soon add a master's degree in healthcare administration to her repertoire.
The 2017 August Commencement also marks the third graduating class of the Bachelor of Health Science program, Pacific's first fully online degree offering.
