Sara Summers Honored for Outstanding Contribution to University
Sara Summers has received the 2021 Outstanding Contribution to the University Award at Pacific University.
Summers joined the Pacific University Graduate & Professional Admissions team in 2007, supporting the School of Learning & Teaching and Master of Social Work programs on the Eugene Campus.
She builds relationships with prospective students, organized recruiting events and interview days, and designs materials and storytelling to bring strong candidates to the university’s programs and to the teaching and social work professions.
In addition to her admissions work, she also serves as a confidential advocate, as the equity, diversity and inclusion director for the Eugene Campus, and as advisor for the campus’s Student Leadership Committee.
Colleagues say she “leads with courage, love and compassion” and “puts her heart into everything she does.”
The Outstanding Contribution to the University Award is awarded to an employee who promotes and exemplifies the mission and values of Pacific, supporting sustainability, encouraging diversity, exemplifying service, and fostering a sense of community.
