COVID-19 Information

Outdoor Pursuits is offering outdoor equipment rental services and day trips to Pacific students, and non-students. We ask that you review the other information, including the updated rental reservations, pick up, and return procedures, prior to making a reservation.

See You Out on the Water

As classes ramp up during the fall semester, Outdoor Pursuits encourages all Pacific students to take a moment to step outside, breathe the fresh air, and explore the wilderness!

Are you looking to hone in on your kayaking skills? Join Outdoor Pursuits Staff at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center at 8 p.m. and hop in whitewater kayaks during the Kayaking Pool Session to practice your rolls and other skills! Kayaks will be provided to registered participants, and you can spend the evening perfecting your kayak roll or other skills in a controlled environment. This event is for both the beginning and experienced kayaker. Register for indoor kayaking on Friday, Sept. 17, Friday, Sept. 24, or both!

On Friday, Sept. 24, participate in a Campfire Jam Session and join OP for a fun evening on the lawn with campfire games, music and s'mores! Stop by after class and relax with friends. To enjoy this wonderful opportunity, register in advance. 

Calling men of color! On Sept. 26, join OP staff and like-minded individuals for a day spent on the beautiful Oregon Coast! Spend the day strolling on the beach, playing in the waves and soaking up sun with friends. All gear and transportation will be provided for a perfect day at the beach. This event is free for all Pacific students and staff! Register in advance for the Men of Color Beach Trip on Sept. 26. 

Our Surf Series 2021 is in full swing! Whether you are an experienced surfer or looking for a new hobby on the waves, Outdoor Pursuits invites surfers of all levels to hang ten on the Oregon coastal waves! This series will provide you with knowledge of wave theory and surf technique in a five-day format that promotes practice, practice, practice and tons of fun! If you missed the first class session on Sept. 14, don't fret! Students can still participate by joining the waitlist for the remaining day trips and class sessions!

Sea you out on the water!

Looking for a quick work out while generating some adrenaline? Hop on a bike and navigate through the beautiful downhill trails on our Mountain Biking Day Trip! Pacific University is located just 25 minutes from Stubb Stewart State Park and other renowned mountain biking trail systems in the Tillamook State Forest. All gear, transportation and instruction is provided. Register for this exciting adventure on Sunday, Oct. 3, and bring along a buddy!
