Coming Soon: the NWCCU Mid-Cycle Accreditation Visit

Pacific University will be welcoming a Peer Evaluation Team from our accrediting body, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), to the Forest Grove campus on Oct 8 & 9 for the Mid-Cycle Visit. 

The Mid-Cycle Visit is a key milestone in the university’s seven-year accreditation cycle. This review is primarily a formative and collegial evaluation meant to ensure the institution is on track for its culminating seven-year evaluation. 

Purpose & Focus of the Visit

Conducted in the third year of the accreditation cycle, the Mid-Cycle evaluation is designed to assess Pacific’s readiness to provide evidence of ongoing mission fulfillment in the Year Seven evaluation. 

The goal of the visit is to help Pacific University understand the extent to which our current outcomes assessment processes for mission fulfillment, student learning, student achievement, and student support will lead to a successful Year Seven evaluation and provide suggestions for where we can continue to improve our regular and ongoing assessment practice.   

The NWCCU Peer Evaluation Team will be meeting with various faculty, staff, students, and administrators during their visit. Invitations for these meetings have already been sent, but all members of the Pacific community play an important role this process. The members of Peer Evaluation teams are faculty, staff, and administrators from other colleges and universities. They will be eager to absorb as much about Pacific as they can in a very short visit.
