Staff Senate Elections: Update & Timeline Extension

Body

We recognize that our staff community is navigating a time of significant transition at the university. We want every employee interested in joining the Staff Senate to be able to run for office, and we also know that some of our colleagues need time and space right now to focus on their next steps, given the restructure.

For that reason, we are extending our timeline for Staff Senate elections. We will be accepting nominations through mid-April (more details on the final deadline to come after spring break). Since the restructure is an evolving process, we will remain flexible because it is important that our colleagues who want to have a voice in our campus governance process can do so. If you are interested in serving on the Staff Senate, please nominate yourself or a peer through this short form. We understand that individual circumstances may change after nominations and elections, and that is okay.

There are nine openings for the 2026-28 Staff Senate term. Staff are eligible to run for the Staff Senate if they are not considered faculty or administration, are benefit-eligible (.5 FTE and up), and have been employed at Pacific for at least one year.

If you have questions, please reach out to Staff Senate Parliamentarian Ren Johns at rjohns@pacificu.edu and review our Staff Senate webpages for more information.
