Have you ever found yourself making assumptions about a colleague’s intentions based on a brief interaction, a meeting, or an email? When information is limited, it is easy to fill in the gaps. Before long, those assumptions can shape how we interpret the situation and decide what to do next.

Join colleagues in person or on Zoom for the quarterly All-Staff Meeting next Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Meet new colleagues, hear about opportunities for you to play a role in active committees, and stay up to date with announcements from areas around the university.
If you are a new supervisor, or a supervisor who has not yet taken the I-9 training, please sign up for the upcoming training in September. These trainings are mandatory for supervisors who handle employee onboarding and I-9 verifications in your department. You will only need to sign up for one training. If you have attended an I-9 training in person or via zoom, you do not need to sign up for the September training.
Your voice matters. University Standing Committees play a vital role in guiding Pacific’s policies, culture, and community decisions. Serving as a staff representative is a rewarding way to build your network across campuses, develop leadership skills, and ensure staff perspectives are heard where decisions are made.
We currently have 11 open staff positions across six committees. Whether you want to self-nominate or recommend a talented colleague, we want to hear from you!
Between sunshine and summer adventures, August is the perfect time to look ahead with intention. This month, Essentials by TIAA highlights the importance of longevity literacy.
Explore Pacific, connect with faculty, students and admissions staff, and learn more about academics, campus life, financial aid and the admission process.
