About the Athletic Training Program

The Pacific University Athletic Training Program offers education for entry into the profession of Athletic Training, through the entry-level Master of Science in Athletic Training degree.

Vision 

The vision of Pacific University's Athletic Training Program is to be recognized locally, regionally and nationally for excellence in graduate athletic training education, and thereby contribute to the development of Pacific University as a leader in professional development.  We, the faculty and staff, strive to invite a rich diversity of ideas and we embrace discovery as an essential characteristic of teaching, learning, scholarship, practice and creative expression. As a faculty and staff, we are dedicated to preparing the students to become leaders in an innovative and professional athletic training practice for a diverse community of active individuals.

Mission

The mission of the faculty and staff of Pacific University's Athletic Training Program is to provide the students with a learning environment which enhances their ability to think critically, act ethically, undertake scholarly study, engage the community, and to prepare for professional work in the broader health care community. 

The faculty and staff strive to educate and mentor students to become skilled, self-directed practitioners.  The mission is accomplished by 1) preparing professional athletic trainers who provide evidence based, compassionate, ethical, and innovative care; 2) emphasizing care that focuses on the needs of individuals, the community, and the profession and 3) encouraging the students to be professionally engaged.

Our mission will be be accomplished with emphasis of the following core values:

Our mission will primarily be carried out within the academic facilities at all Pacific University campuses, and through a number of local and regional clinical educational experiences.  The value of our program is in developing successful professionals that will be prepared to work in their communities, their region, and in a global environment.
